Black Pages Recognised for Contribution to 2012 Aboriginal Health Award

In a fitting ceremony held on the evening of the National 'Close the Gap' Day, the Ambulance Service of NSW (Ambulance) was announced as the winner of the 2012 Aboriginal Health Award for 'Closing the Gap through Innovation and Excellence in Workforce'.

The annual Aboriginal Health Awards are an important way to recognise the success and achievements of individuals, teams and communities dedicated to delivering high quality care and improving health outcomes of Aboriginal people in urban, rural, regional and remote communities throughout NSW.

Louise Ashelford, A/Director Workforce, highlighted that the award is a wonderful achievement and recognition for the dedication, work and passion of those people involved in Ambulance's Aboriginal Employment Program. The delivery of the Aboriginal Employment Program has needed much support from many areas within Ambulance and from external resources, such as the contribution of leading Indigenous consulting company Black Pages and Principal Consultant, Paul Newman for being part of the amazing team that has contributed to the award, and for making the Aboriginal Employment Program such a valuable and successful initiative for Aboriginal.
